'Dyer 5' : dynamic and fresh

The dynamic and energetic gospel group "Dyer 5" was a 1992 JAMI award nominee.
The group felt honored to have been nominated It gives them a sense of satisfaction and recognition.
These sentiments were expressed by Princess one of the members of 'Dyer 5'
Dyer 5 are the children of the Revd. Bradly Dyer, presenter of "Gospel Comes AIive," now being aired on Love 101.
The group comprising Nyjole, Princess, Beth-Sophia , Bradley Jnr. and Silbert started singing from an early age. They became known for performing at concerts and functions held mainly at the Rehoboth Apostolic Church in Portmore, where their father is a minister of religion.
They performed at other churches in the community, beforr launching out into wider circles. They were referred to as "Rev'd Dyer's little kids". Today they are still the
Revd. Dyer's children but they have grown, not only physically but spiritually; and they are appearing among the big names on the gospel music on industry.
The group was officially formed in 1980. They told the Gleaner their first big performance came, when they performed at "Gospel Express" at the National Arena before an audience estimated at over 9,000. Famous American gospel group "Take 6"
also appeared on that show. Another big concert for them was "Gospel in motion across the ocean," at the Portmore Missionary Church.
The group won their first award when they entered the Festival of Choirs and in 1989 won the prize for the best vocal group in a competition put on by the Jamaica Youth for Christ . Since that time they won a number of other awards including an award on the International Christian Music Award.
Dyer 5 recorded their first 45 record in December 1992. And have also recorded two other songs "Real name of Christ" and "Touched.
The group praised their father whom they said, is their main source of inspiration.
